How do you photograph weddings?

I love weddings. I love love, and I love beauty and details. I want to tell the story of your day by capturing intimate and candid moments as well as showing all of the details of the day that you have spent so much time planning. I encourage couples to have a face-to-face interaction with me to make sure there is a level of comfortableness with me since I will be your third wheel on your wedding day. I also send out a questionnaire a few months before the wedding so we can get into the nitty-gritty of the details prior to the event so that we have good flow and even more excellent photos.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I live in New Orleans which is amazing for weddings and elopements due to the fantastic backdrops and locations the city provides. But I do love to travel and am always open to it, whether it be a few hours away by car or something further.

When will we get our photos?

Depending on the time of the year, you should receive your completed gallery within less than six weeks- if not sooner. A photographer's rule of thumb is that for every hour of photography, it generally takes 2-3 hours of editing. So a four-hour wedding day, will take roughly 8-12 hours to edit. However, I do have a rush option for purchase if you need your photos within a week.

How will I receive my photos?

After your gallery is completed, you will receive a PIN number via email. This PIN number will allow you (or whomever you choose) to download the images as many times as you like.

How many photos will I receive?

Each wedding is its own individual-just like the people participating in it. On average, for each hour of photography, one should receive approximately 50-60 edited images. Sometimes it is more and sometimes it is a bit less. I do not go into the day with a set amount of number of photos I must take in mind. I go into the day (or night) wanting to best capture the event and its story. I do prioritize quality over quantity and want the photos of your day to be excellent quality as well the best visual reminders of the story of your day.

How does creating an album work?

I am so glad you asked. Nothing is better than having a tangible object to remember your wedding instead of the images hanging out on your hard drive. To start I will pick the images I think best represent your day and create a flow to the story. I will then send a mock-up of the album to you for your comments and any addition/subtractions you would like made. I will continue to make changes/personalizations until you are satisfied with the finished product.

Do you offer family photography?

Yes, I do! While not my main area, I love getting the chance to photograph families as well as doing infant and maternity sessions. I offer two pricing options for lifestyle sessions: the a la carte and the full.
With the á la carte option, one pays a $275 (non-refundable retainer) to set the date for the photography session. After the completion of the gallery, you have the option to buy as many or little images as would like as well as the option to purchase the entire digital gallery. You will be sent a link of the gallery, allowing you to select your photos in the privacy of your home so that you can contemplate what images work best for you without having another breathe on you/pressure you during your selection.
With the full option, the price is $895- which includes the cost of the session as well as the entire, edited digital gallery.
Specialized product options, such as fine art prints, albums, and large format prints are also available for purchase.

How do I secure the date of my session or event?

To secure the date of a wedding, a 50% non-refundable retainer of the total cost as well as a signed wedding contract is needed in order to save the date. The remainder of the balance is due one week before the event. If you are unsure of your needs, but want to secure the date, you can pay the deposit for package one (four hours of coverage) and always add on from there.
For family/life photography, the total amount of either the a la carte session retainer or the amount of the full package is due at booking in order to schedule a session date.

Can we get the RAW images of our wedding or photo session?

Sadly, no. That would be both a disservice to myself by giving you unfinished less-than work as well for you by trying to create another work with my image. Trust me, (at least I hope you do if you are hiring me), I am going to give you ALL (I'm not holding back) the beautiful photos that I think capture your day, but also help narrate the day with the most elegant well-shot images possible.

How would you describe you aesthetic?

Editorial, elegant, romantic, intimate, candid, journalistic, and humorous.

Do you have second photographers?

Yes, I do, and they are fantastic and dependable. A second photographer is a great addition to one's wedding since not only will you receive more photos of your day but you will also receive a different perspective in which your day was viewed.

Do you have an hourly rate?

Yes! The hourly rate for wedding photography is $350 hour which includes both the time and the digital images. For this option, a purchase of a minimum of one hour is necessary. Additional time can be purchased in hour or thirty minute increments.

How far do you travel?

I will travel anywhere. Travel without an additional fee is within 30 miles of New Orleans. Additional miles outside of the 30 mile travel radius will be priced by the current government rate. If additional accommodations are needed due to distance, that rate will also additionally be charged.

What are the major holidays that you charge an additional fee for?

Major holidays include: New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Fat Tuesday, Easter, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

When do you a charge a parking fee?

Mostly this fee occurs when photographing in the French Quarter; coming to your hotel for the getting ready photos; or if you are getting married in a hotel. The price of parking would be what the location or going rate of the day is (i.e. general parking is more expensive on holidays and event days).

What forms of payment do you take?

Due to the high incidence of check fraud in this industry, I no longer take personal checks. Instead you will receive an invoice in which you can pay via debit or credit card.

What if I know I want to book but am unsure of which package I want or need?

I hear you. It's hard to decide what your needs and wants are sometimes more than a year to two out. If you want to save the date but are unsure of the package you want, you can pay the deposit for package one (four hours of wedding photography with the entire digital gallery) and always add on as needed when you decide what you want.

Can you photograph my rehearsal dinner or party!

Yes, would love to! The cost for photographing a rehearsal dinner is the same as engagment or bridal shoot. Since those sessions normally take approximately 1.5 hours, that is the usual allotted amount of time I give to rehearsal dinners as well.

Can I have just an engagement or bridal session without having wedding photography?

Sure can! This is a great option for several reasons. You are in town visiting and want to have your session in another locale; you are having a destination wedding but still want to have an engagment or bridal session in NOLA; or simply you want to see if you and I vibe before committing to wedding photography. All valid reasons. To book an engagment or bridal session, the full amount of the session is due at the time of booking. The amount is non-refundable is but is able to be transferred to another date within a year's period or to products such as albums or prints.

Can we do more than one location or outfit for our engagment session?

Yep, absolutely. Just let me know what and where you are thinking, and we can make an engagement session plan from there.
